Volunteers Wanted
2nd of December, 2007
Andy Tapley

Sheffield is staging the England men and women’s return to International Indoor Hockey from Friday January 18th until Sunday January 20th at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

We need volunteers to ensure all the international teams have a great experience and following the success of the Euros in Manchester, that we continue to demonstrate we can stage excellent international events in this country and the North in particular.

The men’s event comprises teams from Sweden, Finland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey as well as England and the women will come from Sweden, Turkey, Denmark and England.

We need people for a variety of jobs such as team liaison, access, programmes and ticketing, media, presentation etc.

Ideally suited to any students studying event management or media studies but also for anyone who enjoys working on an international event with a group of like minded people. It is always very rewarding and a lot of fun.

Ideally we would like people who can work the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some (such as team liaison ) who can be available from the Wednesday or Thursday which is when we expect most teams to arrive in Sheffield.

You will be provide with a per diem allowance, appropriate uniform and a pattern of work that gives appropriate breaks. All volunteers are governed by a code of practise which England Hockey has developed to ensure you have a great experience.

Please contact Andy Tapley as soon as possible to express your interest, briefly set out any experience you have and your availability.

You contact Andy by email on andy@tapley.karoo.co.uk
